Arlene's Dolls - Authorized Dealer

Annette was born and raised in a small Swabian town in Germany. She moved to the United States in the 1980's and has lived in both Florida and Georgia. When visiting in Europe, she said she always seeks out doll museums, shows, and accessory manufacturers to find inspiration and purchase vintage fabrics and other materials of high quality.

She started making modern reproduction dolls in 1994 and acquired a great appreciation and love for antique reproductions. She has received Masters and Grandmasters certifications for antique reproduction dolls and has won numerous first prizes, including Best of Category for German reproductions.

Annette began sculpting original dolls in 1998. She learned a variety of sculpting techniques taught by some of the industry masters. She said her sculpting style evolves with each new face she sculpts. She said it is always exciting to bring a new dolly to life.

She debuted her original dolls in 2001 and received her first DOTY Industry Choice Award for her doll Erika. In the years that followed, she has received the DOTY Industry Choice and People's Choice Awards and Awards of Excellence Winner and Nominee recognitions. Receiving these awards has been a great honor for Annette.

In 2010, she celebrated her Ten Year Anniversary. For this occasion she introduced a new line of ball-jointed dolls with porcelain-looking resin bodies. Her first two ball-jointed dolls are Mya and Anya. She calls them the “Best of Both Worlds” because they both have porcelain heads (Mya also has porcelain arms) with resin bodies. The beauty and longevity of porcelain combined with the full articulation of the ball-jointed resin bodies is truly the “Best of Both Worlds”. She also has two one-of-a-kinds named Kirsten and Lucia and an all-bisque cutie called Hope to join in the Ten Year Anniversary festivities.

Annette says the whole creative experience has been wonderful, as well as the warm appreciation I've received from doll collectors and Fine Doll Shops throughout the U.S.A.
